Privacy

The short version: qcphotofinder.com is a free product index. It takes no money, runs no ads and sells no data. It uses Google Analytics to count visits (in the EU, UK and Switzerland only if you allow it).

What is stored

  • Visit counts. When a page loads, the site counts the visit using a code derived from your connection that changes every day and cannot be turned back into an IP address. It records which page you landed on, the site that referred you (the domain only) and your country. It cannot identify you and cannot link your visits across days.
  • Your recent QC searches. The QC finder remembers the last few links you searched in your own browser's storage, so you can repeat a search. That never leaves your device, and clearing your browser storage removes it.
  • Google Analytics. The site uses Google Analytics (Google LLC) to see which pages people use. It sets cookies (_ga) and sends Google the page, the referring site, your approximate location and your device type. In the EU, the UK and Switzerland it loads only after you choose Allow; elsewhere it loads with this page as notice. Either way you can change your cookie choice at any time, and browser tracking protection or an ad blocker also stops it. No advertising features are turned on.
  • Server logs. Like every website, the server records requests (the page, the time, the browser type and the referring domain) to keep the site fast and secure. They are not tied to a person and not shared.

What is not

  • No advertising cookies, no ad networks, no retargeting pixels; analytics only as described above.
  • No accounts, no newsletter, no payments: the site never asks for your name, email or card.
  • No selling or sharing of personal data, to anyone.

Links to shopping agents

Where a page offers links to order a listing through an agent, those go to that agent's own site, where its privacy policy and cookies apply; this site has no control over or visibility into what they collect. The links carry referral codes, which means the site may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.

The QC Photo Finder browser extension

The extension has no account, no tracking and no server of its own. On supported shopping sites it checks the address of the page you are on, inside your browser, to recognise a product page. Nothing is sent anywhere until you click its button, choose it from the right-click menu or use its popup: then it opens a new tab on the matching agent's QC finder or on this site with that product's listing link (the plain Taobao, Weidian or 1688 address, never the rest of the page address). That page view is logged like any other visit, as described above, and is used only to show the photos and run the site.

Its link converter works entirely inside your browser and produces plain product links with no referral code. Its two saved settings, whether the button shows and the agent last chosen in the converter, are kept by your browser's extension storage.

There is no public contact address yet. Questions about an order, a price or a listing belong with the agent you order through, whose listing and support are the authority.
